New NAIAX Tramo access ramp now open
800-meter Tramo access ramp to NAIAX officially opened to motorists
Need to get to the Ninoy Aquino International Air Port as quickly as possible but there's traffic on Skyway and the main toll plaza of the NAIA Expressway (NAIAX)? San Miguel Corporation's (SMC) infrastructure arm has officially opened a new access ramp for motorists to enter to get to the airport faster.
Now open to the public is the Tramo access ramp in Pasay City which is expected to ease traffic in the area and provide seamless access to NAIA and beyond. Speaking at the ceremonial opening held last March 1, 2024, SMC president & CEO Ramon S. Ang shared the importance of the new 800-meter access ramp for motorists – particularly for those using EDSA Southbound coming from Makati or northbound coming from Entertainment City.
“This Tramo access ramp provides another option for motorists heading to the airport, and other areas in Paranaque City and Cavite province. We believe it can help relieve overall traffic congestion in the area, and improve traffic flow within the vicinity of the airport,” said Ang.
Also present during the ceremony was DPWH Secretary Manuel “Manny” Bonoan who led the inauguration of the new access ramp. Bonoan credited SMC for supporting the government's efforts to build vital infrastructure to sustain the country's economic growth.
“The Tramo access ramp has been in San Miguel’s drawing board for a long, long time because they knew it would enhance the efficiency of NAIA expressway, and improve the mobility of motorists going to the airport,” added Bonoan.
Bonoan also mentioned that aside from the new Tramo access ramp, further improvements on NAIAX are being studied by the agency in partnership with SMC to improve traffic flow to airport terminals given the growing demand.
As for Ang, the executive remained firm in the company's commitment to work closely with the government to continue building infrastructures that will benefit the public.
“San Miguel will continue to pursue these vital infrastructure projects, in close coordination with our government, because of their benefits to our people and economy. Through these projects, we also create jobs, improve the mobility of goods and services, and make our cities and regions more primed for growth. All these serve to support and sustain our growing economy,” stated Ang.
