Resurrected Rides to stream on July 24
Remember the MTV show called Pimp My Ride where they took some rough-looking cars and made them look… well.. modified? Something similar is coming to Netflix. And yes, it promises to come with all those wild car mods for your viewing fun.
However, it won’t be called Pimp My Ride. Instead, you’ll know it as Resurrected Rides. The host won’t be Xzibit either; comedian and actor Chris Redd of Saturday Night Live will be the one to run the new aspirational and wish-fulfillment show.

The executive producer of Resurrected Rides was also involved in making Pimp My Ride, and promised the new show will channel “the spirit and knowledge” of the original.
For those old enough to have watched Pimp My Ride, Xzibit and his team of mechanics took old beaters into pieces of machinery with motorized TV screens, subwoofers, spinners, suicide doors, and all the craze of the mid-2000s car culture era. However, there were times when the show went too far in terms of modification, and included things like CT machines, and even chocolate fountains and pool tables.

Whether it’s for the right (or wrong) reasons, Pimp My Ride carved its own place in car culture history to shape what’s indeed hot, and what’s not in today’s car scene. Hopefully, the new show is as entertaining as the old one for the good reasons, especially with Netflix listing the show as “Humorous”.
That said, Resurrected Rides will stream on July 24. Anyone tuning in to watch?
