MG Philippines launches the D90 7-seater SUV
Remember when MG Philippines received regulatory approval for a turbo-diesel engine last month? Well, it looks like our hunch about the company looking to bring a diesel-powered SUV became a reality.
Say hello to the 2025 MG D90 SUV, a midsize 7-seater SUV that has its sights set on the likes of the Ford Everest, Toyota Fortuner, Mitsubishi Montero Sport, and Nissan Terra. Also called the Gloster in other markets, the D90 will serve as MG's contender in the midsize PPV segment and the brand's first-ever turbo-diesel model.

Under the hood, the D90 is powered by a 2.0L turbo-diesel engine that comes with 4WD as standard. The turbo-diesel generates 215 PS and 500 Nm of torque and is coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. As mentioned earlier, it has a 4WD system, complete with Terrain Selection.
In terms of size, the MG D90 measures 4985mm long, 1926mm wide, and 1867mm tall and comes with a 2950mm wheelbase. Style-wise, the D90 gets a distinct pair of LED headlights and daytime running lights, an octagon-shaped grille, massive diamond-cut alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and wraparound LED taillights.

Hop inside, and the D90 welcomes passengers into a leather-lined and feature-packed cabin. In the center dashboard sits a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.

It also has full leather upholstery, LED ambient lighting, an 8-inch multi-info display, a 360-degree camera system, three-zone climate control, power-adjustable seats, captain seats for the second row, a power tailgate, a tire pressure monitoring system, and a host of advanced driver assist systems (ADAS).

For now, the D90 is only being previewed by MG Philippines. But given that frame-based midsize SUVs are still popular in the country, perhaps it will be a matter of when and not if the MG D90 will be offered in the Philippines.

Moreover, a well-placed source says there will be two variants offered once officially revealed: the base model COM and the top-of-the-line LUX - both of which will be 4WD only.
