GAC M8 PHEV has 106 km electric range

Luxury MPVs like the Lexus LM and Toyota Alphard have gotten their own dose of electrification. This time, it’s GAC’s turn to do the same with the M8.

Making its Philippine debut at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show is no other than the GAC M8 PHEV. The model is also the first plug-in hybrid offering of GAC in the country, showing off the brand’s capability to engineer its models with the ability to go on full electric power over a long distance.

On the outside, the M8 PHEV looks exactly similar to the ICE version. But look closer, and the M8 PHEV wears the blue halo GAC badge that was first seen in the country through the Emkoo Hybrid.

Likewise, you’ll experience the same level of luxurious features inside the M8 PHEV. The plug-in hybrid luxury MPV retains the second-row relaxation seats with heating and massage functions, along with things like a panoramic sunroof and large screen displays.

But underneath the hood, the M8 PHEV packs a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four and an electric motor connected to a 25.7 kWh lithium ternary battery pack. The PHEV system delivers an impressive 373 PS and 650 Nm of torque managed by a 2-speed dedicated hybrid transmission.

On pure battery power, GAC says the M8 PHEV can reach up to 106 km from a full charge. But combined with the 2.0-liter turbo mill, the PHEV system can cover up to 1,032 km of range.
