Changan now offering diverse lineup of EVs
Changan Auto Philippines is sending a message at the 2025 Manila International Auto Show – they are now ready to compete in the new energy vehicle segment in the country.
During their brand presentation on the first day of MIAS 2025, Changan Auto Philippines rolled out four vehicles that will represent the brand’s new energy vehicle lineup – the Nevo Q05, Nevo Hunter K50, the Lumin EV, and soon, the Nevo A05 plug-in hybrid sedan.

The Nevo Q05 shares a lot of similarities with Changan’s compact crossover, the CS55. Those include the interior layout, as well as the wealthy list of standard features such as Apple Carplay, Android Auto, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and quilted leather seats with power adjust. However, the Q05 distinguishes itself by wearing a closed-off upper grille and features the new-for-PH "101" Nevo logo.
Under the hood, the Changan Nevo Q05 combines a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor to form the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The total system output is rated at 215 PS with a maximum torque of 330 Nm. The model’s most notable feature is its capability of switching to three diverse electric driving modes: Pure Electric, Hybrid, and Priority Electric.

In terms of the all-electric range, the Q05 can reach up to 95 km with its 18.4 kWh battery under WLTP conditions, with the vehicle capable of doing a combined range of up to 1,200 km. The model will be offered in two variants: the Changan Nevo Q05 SE, which will serve as the base variant, and the Changan Nevo Q05 iD, which will serve as the top variant.

Meanwhile, the Changan Nevo Hunter K50 is back in a major Philippine motor show – this time as an officially launched vehicle. Changan prides itself on the Hunter K50 as the first range-extended electric vehicle pickup in the country. Offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants, the Hunter K50 comes in a single motor and a dual motor setup for its REEV system.

The dual-motor 4x4 puts out a combined 268 PS with 470 Nm of torque, while the single-motor 4x2 version makes 174 PS and 320 Nm of pull. With a fully charged battery, Changan says the Hunter RE-EV can cover up to 180 km in pure EV mode. With a 2.0L turbo acting as a range extender, the Hunter K50 can travel up to 1,031 km based on the CLTC cycle. Much like other PHEVs and full EVs, the Hunter K50’s battery system supports a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system with a 3.3 kW high-power cargo box with two 220V sockets.

For the budget EV segment, Changan has also rolled out its contender in the Lumin mini hatchback. Measuring 3270mm long, 1700mm wide, and 1590mm tall, the Lumin EV also has a 1980mm wheelbase. Featuring funky styling with its circular LED headlights, Changan made use of pastel colors to make the Lumin appeal to the youth.
The Lumin EV packs a single e-motor that drives the front wheels, making 48 PS and 83 Nm of torque. Powering the e-motor is a 28.08 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) battery, giving a range of up to 301 km on a full charge based on the NEDC cycle.
The Lumin can be recharged from 0% to 100% via AC in less than 10 hours, while a fast DC charger can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in just 35 minutes. Last but not least, Changan's mini EV has two drive modes (Eco & Sport) and has a top speed of over 100 km/h.

Lastly, the Changan Nevo A05 was also previewed as the brand’s upcoming contender to the BYD Seal 5. Like the Q05 crossover, the A05 sports a closed-off grille in front complemented by a sophisticated design that gives it a premium-grade vibe.

The A05 appears to have a tech-laden cabin with a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment dominating the dashboard. It also has a power sunroof with the seats and most of the interior panels wrapped in synthetic leather.
