IM L7 is MG's take on a fully electric luxury sedan

MG Philippines today not only held the official opening of its newest location, MG Gallery. During the official inauguration, the automaker also previewed a new fully electric vehicle that will give other luxury sedans something to think about.

After previewing the IM LS7 at this year's Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), MG has now given us a glimpse of the IM L7. Billed by the brand as their take on a zero-emissions luxury sedan, the L7 is brimming with high-tech features & amenities along with a powertrain that can rival sports cars and even supercars.

Starting with the electric hardware, the IM L7 comes with a pair of electric motors and gets its power from a 100 kWh battery pack. This gives the AWD L7 579 PS along with a meaty 725 Nm of torque. On a full charge, MG claims the L7 can reach up to 615 km based on the WLTP cycle. In addition, the L7 can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in a blistering 3.87 seconds. The L7 is also equipped with Brembo 4-piston front calipers to help it shave off speed quickly while a set of grippy Pirelli P Zero tires help keep the luxury EV planted to the pavement.

Size-wise, the L7 measures 5108mm long, 1960mm wide, 1485mm tall, and has a 3100mm wheelbase. Its overall design is reminiscent of sporty luxury sedans with its unique LED lighting signature, coupe-like silhouette, and distinct rear LED lighting design.

Also worth mentioning is the array of LiDAR sensors and smart cameras placed on top of the vehicle – giving the L7 the ability to autonomously drive on its own. The L7 also has frameless doors, privacy glass for the rear occupants, a star dome panoramic glass roof, and soft-close doors that can automatically deploy if users wish to do so.

Inside, the L7 features a wide array of high-resolution displays. Not only do they serve as the instrument panel but it also shows the touchscreen infotainment system. Instead of a round steering wheel for the driver, the L7 gets an aircraft-inspired steering yoke with multi-function controls.

MG Philippines has yet to share when they plan to offer the L7 here in the country. But since they already previewed the LS7 electric luxury SUV earlier this year, perhaps they are now gauging customer interest. Pricing details have yet to be announced also by MG.

With MG brandishing their EV portfolio in the country, it might not be long before the Marvel R, MG4, ZS EV, and Cyberster are joined by the IM LS7 and L7 luxury EVs.
