LTO receives additional 600k pieces from Banner Plastic
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has more good news for motorists waiting to have their driver’s license cards.
Three weeks after the lifting of the Writ of Preliminary Injunction, the LTO has taken delivery of 600,000 more pieces of plastic cards from Banner Plasticard, Inc.
The recent delivery adds up to the first one million pieces of plastic cards delivered last month. LTO Chief Asec. Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II hopes this will ensure continuity in the agency’s efforts to address the backlog of plastic-printed driver’s licenses.

Banner Plasticard, Inc. is set to deliver a total of 3.2 million pieces of plastic cards. Asec. Mendoza said they expect the completion of the delivery within 45 days after the first delivery that happened last March 25.
LTO also said the renewal schedule of expired driver’s licenses, which was issued recently shall continue as the agency further gets additional cards.
That said, the agency still isn’t out of the water just yet. As of last month’s end, the backlog of plastic-printed driver’s licenses is already at the 4.1 million mark.
