Say hello to the Kia EV9's Hyundai twin, the 2026 Ioniq 9

Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) has been on a roll recently with the launch of several new and refreshed models. From the return of the Elantra and Kona to the reveal of the facelifted Creta, it seems HMPH is firing on all cylinders.

Just last night, the Korean automaker surprised everyone with the debut of the all-new Palisade Hybrid. But that wasn't the only big reveal Hyundai had in store. Besides launching its latest flagship hybrid SUV, Hyundai also unveiled the all-new Ioniq 9 EV.

Starting with the Ioniq 9, this three-row all-electric crossover SUV now serves as the brand's biggest and most high-tech EV. Despite having SUV proportions, the EV9 still comes with a sleek and aerodynamic exterior that makes it stand out from the rest. The front fascia is dominated by full-width LED light bar along with LED cube projection headlights that give it a Cyberpunk-like appearance.

It also gets a sloping roofline and a “boat tail” design inspired by the original Seven concept, which further highlights the vehicle's massive size and more futuristic appearance. Flared wheel arches are also present, which house the massive 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 285/45 series tires. In case you haven't noticed them yet, the Ioniq 9 also gets vertical LED taillights that are reminiscent of the Staria. Size-wise, the Ioniq 9 measures 5060mm long, 1980mm wide, and 1790mm tall. It also has a 3130mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 174mm.

Hop aboard the Ioniq 9, and it welcomes you into a three-row cabin complete with high-tech amenities and features. For starters, it gets captain seats on the second row, just like the Palisade Hybrid, while the third row can seat a total of three people. Fold down all the seats, however, and the Ioniq 9 is capable of hauling up to 1,323 liters of luggage.

The dashboard features a panoramic display that consists of two high-definition 12.3-inch displays. The first serves as the instrument panel while the other is the touchscreen infotainment system. The infotainment supports wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay and is complemented by a 14-speaker Bose sound system. For extra comfort, the driver and front passenger get relaxation seats while the captain seats in the back are power-adjustable with leg rests.

Other key features present include dual-zone climate control, LED ambient lighting, digital side mirrors, full-leather upholstery, a wireless charging pad, USB-C charging ports, a panoramic sunroof, a smart power tailgate, a frunk, and a suite of intelligent driver aids called Smartsense.

At the heart of the Ioniq 9 is a 110.3 kWh battery pack that sends power to a pair of electric motors. The result is AWD capability and a total system output of 308 PS and 608 Nm of torque. On a full charge, Hyundai claims the Ioniq 9 can travel up to 600 km. It also has a 610V electric architecture, and a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 retails for PHP 4.58 million and can be ordered at select Hyundai dealerships. Each unit will be made-to-order and is available with a wide range of colors for both the exterior and interior.
