Lexus PH recalls over 300 vehicles due to adaptive high beams issue

Lexus issues Customer Satisfaction Campaign due to faulty AHB reflector

Lexus customers who own an ES, LS, LX, or RX may want to have their vehicles checked soon. This comes after Lexus Philippines via Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) issued a “Customer Satisfaction Campaign” for several vehicles due to an issue with the adaptive high beams (AHB) on the headlights.

The affected vehicles feature adaptive high beams on their LED headlights that adjust illumination based on the driving environment. However, cutting oil residue and high temperatures inside the headlamps can cause the reflector to crack and detach from the motor over time. A warning message will be displayed inside the vehicle should this occur while the AHB function along with the high beams may become inoperable.

A total of 319 vehicles are part of the recall and consist of several Lexus models. These include 130 examples of the ES built from November 3, 2021 to May 26, 2023, twelve units of the LS 500/500h produced from November 5, 2020 to May 29, 2023, thirty-six examples of the LX 600/500d manufactured from December 13, 2021 to May 31, 2023, and 141 units of the RX made from November 16, 2022 to May 24, 2023.

Customers with affected vehicles will be notified by the company via an Official Notification Letter and will be invited to Lexus Manila Inc. or any of the Lexus Accredited Dealers nationwide. There, recalled vehicles will be inspected and will have the AHB reflector replaced free of charge to vehicle owners.

Lexus customers with vehicles that are included in the service campaign are highly encouraged to set an appointment to conduct an inspection and replacement of the AHB reflector to prevent problems from happening.
