Kia will launch an A-segment SUV for the Indian market

Just when you thought the Sonet would be the smallest crossover that Kia could make, they are making something even smaller.

That’s right. Kia has teased the upcoming crossover called the Syros. For now, the Korean manufacturer intends to offer it in the Indian market, possibly serving as the Kia twin of Hyundai’s Exter and Inster EV.

Featuring a boxy shape with a high roof, squarish wheel arches, and a flat roofline, the Kia Syros looks like it’s a scaled-down version of the new Carnival. Along with the vertical taillights, the Syros can pass up as a slightly larger kei car.

Kia is yet to release cabin photos but promises the Syros to have an innovative seating layout along with a comprehensive list of interior features that include a panoramic sunroof.

In terms of the engine options, the Syros could get a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine paired with a 5-speed MT or 5-speed automated manual, similar to the Hyundai Exter.

That said, the Kia Syros could be launched by January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in India.
