Jaecoo’s all-electric 4x4 coming soon to PH roads
Omoda Jaecoo Philippines is set to offer an electric 4x4 that comes with a boxy exterior, bags of character, and plenty of toys to play with. Recently previewed for the Philippine market is the Jaecoo EJ6, an all-electric 4x4 SUV that is set to go on sale in the country soon.
With its Jimny-like exterior, the Jaecoo EJ6 is easily one of the brand's most striking and eye-catching vehicles to date. It has vertical lighting elements on the front fascia, black body cladding that highlights its 4x4 capability, and large alloy wheels. The rear LED taillights follow the same design as the headlights and are complemented by a swing-out-style tailgate.

Size-wise, the EJ6 measures 4342mm long, 1930mm wide, 1741mm tall, and has a 2630mm wheelbase. It also has a claimed 600mm of water wading depth and a turning radius of 5.6m. The automaker also mentioned it has 200mm of ground clearance, an approach angle of 32 degrees, and a departure angle of 34 degrees. Last but not least, the EJ6 comes with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/55 series tires.
Hop aboard and the EJ6 welcomes occupants into a high-tech cabin that’s dominated by a massive touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. The automaker has yet to say what features it has but based on what other markets get, it comes with intelligent infotainment features along with navigation, Bluetooth, and an optional 12-speaker Infinity sound system. Also present is what looks to be a 50W Qi wireless phone charger, a panoramic glass roof, and a full leather upholstery.

At the heart of the EJ6 is a pair of electric motors that provide 4WD capability. It has a total system output of 278 PS along with a generous 385 Nm of torque. Power is supplied by a CATL 69.77 lithium iron phosphate battery which gives the EJ6 a range of up to 421 km based on the NEDC cycle. Recharging the battery from 30% to 80% via a 6.6 kW AC charger can be done in around 12.5 hours. On the other hand, an 80 kW DC fast charger can recharge the vehicle from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The EJ6 is also equipped with an advanced driver assistance system which gives it intelligent driver aids. These include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, emergency lane keeping, intelligent high beam assist, lane-keeping assist, rear collision warning, rear-cross traffic alert, and traffic jam assist.

The automaker plans to sell the Jaecoo 6 soon, perhaps sometime next year. As for its price, Jaecoo is reportedly looking to sell the EJ6 at sub PHP 2 million.
