All-electric JAC T9 debuts in Singapore
We already have a good idea of what to expect from JAC Cars Philippines for this year's Manila International Auto Show. With the Land Transportation Office (LTO) already releasing homologation documents of the upcoming JAC T9, the pickup truck could finally make its official debut next month at World Trade Center Manila.
However, there's one more variant of the pickup truck we wish JAC Cars Philippines could bring to the country. Recently, the automaker launched the T9 EV in Singapore – marking the electric pickup's arrival in Southeast Asia. The first batch of customers for the JAC T9 EV in Singapore includes leading companies across logistics, leasing, maritime, and environmental industries.

Moreover, the T9 EV has already secured its first tender order from an industry client – marking a significant milestone in JAC's continued investment in Singapore's new energy market. Singapore's pickup truck market is small and is mostly dominated by Japanese brands. However, the arrival of the JAC T9 EV could prove pivotal as it will likely attract not just industry customers but also private consumers.

No official specifications were revealed but the Singapore-spec T9 EV likely has the same output figures as the one sold in the PRC. That means a front electric motor that puts out 70 kW or 95 PS and 176 Nm of torque along with a rear electric motor that produces 204 PS and 340 Nm of pull. An 88.02 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery gives the T9 EV a range of up to 340 km based on the WLTP cycle.
Recharging the T9 EV from 15% to 100% via an 11 kW AC charger can be done in around 8.3 hours. Meanwhile, a DC fast charger can replenish the T9 EV's battery from 15% to 80% in less than an hour. The T9 EV also comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system which can power a worksite, a campsite, or several home appliances during a blackout. Last but not least, the T9 has a 900 kg payload capacity and a braked towing capacity of up to 2,000 kg.

Could we see the JAC T9 EV make its way here in the Philippines in the future? Perhaps, but it might take some time as the brand will have to first bring the diesel-powered T9 to market which might happen at MIAS 2025.
