Jetour Auto PH gets approval to bring a passenger vehicle with a 1499cc engine

Earlier this year, Jetour Auto Philippines Inc. (JAPI) Managing Director Miguelito Jose confirmed the automaker will be launching three plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models this 2025. They already launched the X70 Lightning and T2 Lightning i-DM models a few months ago, which means they have already brought two out of the three PHEVs.

Now, it looks like we can expect the last plug-in hybrid Jetour to make its Philippine debut soon. Recently, JAPI received regulatory approval for a new passenger vehicle that's powered by a 1499cc gasoline engine. It's also listed to have a reference weight of 2,100 kg, which makes it quite a hefty vehicle.

After cross-checking the numbers, it looks like the Jetour T1 Lightning i-DM is on its way here. Just like the X70 and T2 Lightning, the T1 Lightning will likely come with a 1.5L turbocharged engine that puts out 154 PS and 220 Nm of torque. It is then assisted by an electric motor that makes 201 PS with 310 Nm of pull and a 26.7 kWh battery pack.

The exact local specifications are not yet available, although in other markets, the T1 Lightning can travel up to 117 km without using a drop of fuel. It's also capable of traveling more than 1,000 km with both the engine and electric motor working together, and comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) function to power up campsites or worksites during a blackout.

Based on our previous report, Jetour plans to launch the T1 Lightning i-DM PHEV in the Philippines during the “ber” months. This means we can expect the electrified crossover SUV to make its official debut either in Q3 or Q4 2025.
