We get up close with the 2026 Toyota RAV4 Adventure HEV CVT
Toyota Motor Philippines had one heck of a surprise at the opening leg of the 2026 Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Cup held at Riverpark in Cavite. Aside from getting a chance to watch the Vios and Tamaraw duke it out on a street circuit, the automaker also displayed several of its latest & upcoming vehicles.
One of those is the all-new RAV4 HEV, which was shown in the 2.5L Adventure HEV CVT variant last weekend. We were able to take a closer look at the electrified compact crossover and were also able to check out its equipment list before its official launch.
Starting with the exterior, the RAV4 Adventure comes with 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/60 series Dunlop e.Sport Maxx tires, which are specifically designed for electrified vehicles. On the other hand, the Limited HEV gets 235/50 series tires with 20-inch alloy wheels. The Adventure variant also comes with overfenders on the wheel arches that further give it a more rugged appearance. Toyota even installed bumper guards on the front & rear for extra safety when going off the beaten path.
Other exterior features present on the RAV4 Adventure include projector LED headlights (auto-leveling for the Limited), functional roof rails, a tilt & slide moonroof (panoramic moonroof for the Limited), a power tailgate, and stylish wraparound LED taillights.
Hop inside, and the RAV4 Adventure welcomes you into a high-tech and leather-wrapped interior. The seats, steering wheel, parts of the dashboard, and the front center armrest come with the leather upholstery. They are then complemented by orange accents on the steering wheel, center console, and seat backrests, which give the interior a sportier look & feel.
The RAV4 HEV Adventure also has a mechanical gear selector (shift-by-wire for the Limited), a large center console with integrated cupholders, USB-C charging ports, a wireless charging pad, a drive mode selector, and a 360-degree around-view monitor (AVM).
Infotainment inside the RAV4 HEV comes in the form of a 12.9-inch touchscreen media display with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay. It also has satellite navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system. Meanwhile, in front of the driver is a 12.3-inch TFT multi-info display.
Under the hood, the all-new RAV4 is powered by an electrified 2.5L A25A-FXS inline-four that benefits from VVT-iE and VVT-i. The hybrid powertrain makes a combined 239 PS with 221 Nm of torque thanks to a pair of electric motors. The front motor puts out 136 PS with 208 Nm while the rear motor produces 54 PS and 121 Nm. Power is then sent to all four wheels via an e-CVT with e-Four AWD.
Toyota Motor PH claims that in city (Urban) and highway (Extra Urban) driving conditions, the RAV4 HEV can average up to 28.6 km/L and 17.9 km/L, respectively. This gives the crossover the ability to have a combined average fuel consumption of 20.4 km/L.
When it comes to safety, the electrified crossover is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense as standard. This gives it a suite of intelligent driver aids, such as a pre-collision system, automatic high beams, lane-tracing assist, lane departure alert, and dynamic radar cruise control (AKA adaptive cruise control). For extra peace of mind, the RAV4 is also equipped with seven airbags in total (driver, passenger, front side, curtain shield, and driver's knee).
