Refreshed GWM Ora 03 EV announced in China
Most Chinese brands seem to be keen on giving updates and refresh their models on almost a yearly basis, but the same cannot be said with GWM and the Ora 03, otherwise known as the Good Cat in other markets.
The cutesy little hatchback has remained unchanged since it first debuted in 2020, and now GWM has finally pulled the trigger and introduced a minor model change for the EV that involves some exterior and tech updates.

The Porsche-esque front end is still there, but the visual change was done to the lower part of the bumper. GWM has ditched the chrome accents as the bumper now grew a pair of side intakes. Likewise, the main lower grille is bigger and now features an active grille shutter to optimize aerodynamics and battery cooling.

Inside, the Ora 03 gets bigger screens, and are now separated instead of being bonded together in a panel. The digital instrument cluster upgrades to a 10.25-inch unit, and a 14.6-inch touchscreen is now onboard for infotainment. The two spoke steering wheel also gets a revised design, while other updates include a steering column-mounted gear selector, USB-C ports, and a more accessible wireless charging pad.

As for its electric powertrain, GWM still has the 171 PS, 250 Nm front motor but interestingly, it comes with a smaller 45.9 kWh battery that gives it a range of 430 km in its home market. We’re not quite sure if this will be the case when GWM Philippines offers the updated version in the local setting.
Nevertheless, GWM showed that they can survive brutal competition in the Chinese market with a model rollout strategy that’s similar to established brands. Let’s see if they can keep this one up.
