This GWM Haval H9 has a combined 131-liter fuel capacity

Let's face it, some people don't like filling up their vehicles. Apart from the fact that it's expensive, it can also be time-consuming, which can be frustrating, especially for drivers who always prefer to arrive at their destinations early.

Well, GWM has released a new variant of the H9 SUV in its home market that ensures you don't have to fill up your vehicle every so often, and we're hoping it will be offered here in the country in the future.

This is the GWM Haval H9 Crossing Edition, and it was specifically made to cover long distances with ease and was also built for overland use. Compared to the regular H9, the Crossing Edition gets a taller ride height that was increased by 30mm and has 265/65/R18 all-terrain tires. This gives the H9 Crossing Edition a minimum ground clearance of 235mm, as well as approach & departure angles of 33 and 26 degrees, respectively. It also has a breakover angle of 25 degrees and a water wading depth of up to 800mm.

What truly makes the H9 Crossing Edition special is its ability go the extra mile thanks to a dual fuel tank system. Yes, you read that right, it has dual fuel tanks in its chassis, which explains GWM's claim that the H9 Crossing Edition can cover long-distance driving. It does this thanks to a main 78-liter fuel tank and an extra 53-liter tank, which gives it a total capacity of 131 liters.

With both tanks filled to the brim, GWM says the H9 Crossing Edition can easily do 1,400 km based on the WLTC cycle. Compared to the Land Cruiser 300 and Land Cruiser Prado 250, which both have a 110-liter capacity (80L + 30L), the H9 Crossing Edition can cover more ground before needing a refill.

Power still comes from a 2.4L turbo-diesel engine that makes 186 PS with 480 Nm of torque. The engine is then mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and a BorgWarner torque-on-demand intelligent 4WD system. It's also available with optional front & rear locking differentials for extra grip when the going gets tough, when going off-road.

With GWM Philippines getting ready to launch the Haval H9 7-seater SUV in the market, we're wondering if they also plan to have the Crossing Edition launched here in the future.
