The most powerful Ranger Raptor could be coming to PH
Ford Philippines could be finally giving what fans of the Ranger Raptor have been waiting for.
Last year, Ford PH launched the next-generation Ranger Raptor that featured a series of exterior and interior enhancements, platform improvements, and new off-road drive modes of the Ranger T6.2 platform.
However, what the Philippine market missed out on was the twin-turbo V6-powered version that other international markets got. In other countries, the V6-powered Ranger Raptor produced up to 392 PS and 583 Nm of torque – significantly greater than what the PH market 2.0-liter biturbo diesel could put out.

But finally, it seems like the Blue Oval has given in. We got hold of information that the automaker has received regulatory approval for a new vehicle with an engine displacement of 2956 cc. It also states in the approval that the engine is for a light-duty vehicle. In other words, it’s a pickup truck.
In the Ford stable, light-duty vehicles that weigh over 2 tons only include the Ranger Raptor and the F-150 lineup. But since the F-150 is only being offered with either a 3.0-liter Powerstroke diesel, a 2.7-liter Ecoboost V6, or a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6, this led us to believe the mystery vehicle could be none other than the Ranger Raptor V6.

Apart from the increased power and torque, the V6 Ranger Raptor also gets a race-bred anti-lag system for its turbocharger, as well as adaptive dampers for its Fox suspension. It even has an active exhaust system that amplifies the engine note in the most aggressive drive mode.
For now, Ford remains quiet regarding the interests of the Ranger Raptor V6 in the Philippine market. But we won’t be surprised if they start giving out teasers in the coming months.
