Ford adds Tremor version to all-new 2025 Expedition
The Ford Expedition was once a social status symbol in the Philippines. From the late 90s to the early 2000s, if you had an Expedition in your garage, you’re considered a high roller. Even more so if you had the Eddie Bauer edition.
Since then though, the influx of cheaper, more fuel efficient SUVs meant the Expedition’s share of the pie got a lot smaller as the years went on. But across the pacific in the United States, the Expedition is well and truly alive.

Ford has launched the all-new Expedition, promising more comfort, connectivity, better technology and greater off-road capability especially with its new Tremor variant.
Available in both the standard 5.3 meter long and the 5.6 meter long Expedition Max, the all-new model gets a new set of C-shaped LED headlights up front with a revised front grille for a more upright, more stately look that’s fit for a full-size SUV.

At the back, the Expedition also gets new vertical taillights to complement the new Ford Split Gate where the top half raises like a traditional liftgate, while the lower half folds down similar to a pickup truck’s tailgate.

The new Tremor version comes as the most capable off-road variant of the Expedition as it comes with 33-inch all terrain tires, a higher ground clearance, underbody shielding, an electronic locking rear differential and special terrain modes designed for better control off-road.
Meanwhile, buyers can choose wheel sizes ranging from 18” with the Active, and up to 24” on the Platinum trim.

Inside, the Expedition welcomes occupants with a huge 24-inch panoramic display for its instrument cluster positioned near the lower edge of the windshield, forminga two-tiered dashboard design. There’s a large and chunky two spoke steering wheel for the driver, and also a large infotainment screen that’s equipped with the all-new Ford Connectivity Package, giving owners the ability to use the Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Google Play apps and embedded Google Maps seamlessly.

Cargo versatility was also much improved for the all-new Expedition as the second and third row seats split in a 40-20-40 configuration, enabling owners to form a long center isle while still being able to sit 6 passengers.
Powering the all-new Expedition is a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 engine in two states of tune – one has 400 PS and 650 Nm of torque, while the high-output version found on the Tremor puts out 440 PS and 692 Nm of torque. Both engine options are paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The all-new Expedition is also fitted with a lot of advanced driving features such as the Ford BlueCruise Hands-free highway driving suite, as well as the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Backup Assist for towing and hitching.
Ford will roll out the Expedition in its Active, Platinum, King Ranch and Tremor variants by around March 2025 in the North American market. As for us in the Philippine market, we can only admire the Expedition from a distance as Ford Philippines does not currently have plans to offer the Expedition again locally.
