G-Shock reveals special special edition G-Shock Mudman GW-9500TLC

Looking to get a brand-new watch to pair with your Toyota Land Cruiser 300? Casio has just released a special edition G-Shock inspired by the grueling Dakar rally race.

Made in collaboration with Team Land Cruiser (TLC) Toyota Auto Body, a racing team that G-Shock supports, who recently won their 11th consecutive win in the Stock (Production Car) category in a one-two finish at this year's rally, they've decided to memorialize their achievement through a special edition watch.

The unique timepiece is based on the Mudman GW-9500 which was specifically designed to take on the toughest of conditions. But to make it more special, special colors (and finishes) were applied to the rugged timepiece.

The watch features a black and red color scheme inspired by the Land Cruiser 300 GR Sport, the vehicle that competed in the Dakar Rally. It also gets red accents including a red line at the 3 o'clock button and side surfaces.

As for the strap, it gets a sand-colored finish and is printed with a black mud splatter pattern which serves as a nice touch in evoking the ruggedness of Dakar Rally. To top it all off, the band and back-case are adorned with the Team Land Cruiser logo. And when the LED backlight is turned on, a TLC graphic appears on the LCD to remind everyone just how special this watch is.
