Footbridge project connecting SM Megamall and EDSA Busway Ortigas to cause traffic
Motorists that travel along EDSA-Ortigas and near SM Megamall better carry with them plenty more patience in the coming months.
This comes after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that a private contractor will construct a footbridge that will allow pedestrians to cross from SM Megamall to the EDSA Busway and vice versa.
The SM Megamall Footbridge for the EDSA Busway project will be built along EDSA in front of the said shopping mall between Dona Julia Vargas Avenue and Bank Drive. The construction of the said footbridge will last until June 10, 2025, which means work on the project is expected to last for 5 months.
The MMDA added that the construction of the footbridge will affect the sidewalk and center island along EDSA near SM Megamall. Work on the said bridge will be around the clock and is a collaboration between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and SM Management.
With the project set to affect motorists traveling along EDSA-Ortigas near SM Megamall, the MMDA has advised road users to look for alternative ways and bear with the footbridge project.
