Chevrolet gives their hot selling PPV a makeover

General Motors International (GMI) has today revealed a redesigned version of the Chevrolet Trailblazer at the opening day of the 37th Bangkok International Motor Show.

Called the Chevrolet Trailblazer Premier, the show vehicle indicates the near future look of the new pick-up passenger vehicle (PPV) that GM, including Philippine distributor The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), will be offering in the market.

“We want to continue to lead the charge in these segments in what is one of the most important markets in the region,” said Mr. Mike Devereux, GM International Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Aftersales.

The new Trailblazer Premier features a sophisticated new fascia from General Motors' design team with a more intricate front, redesigned headlamps and an evolution of the Chevrolet split grille. The Premier rides on 22-inch wheels and goes to the show sporting a new color scheme that Chevrolet dubbed as Velocity. New details, such as step boards, a new spoiler, and redesigned taillights round out the new look.

“While the Trailblazer Premier remains just as capable for the adventurous family, it explores a different side of its persona. It responds directly to the growing desire for a more luxurious and sophisticated SUV, one that boasts premium appointments inside and out,” continued Devereux.

Inside, the Trailblazer gets a new interior with premium leather, a redesigned dashboard, updated details, and more. The Trailblazer Premier also gets the latest version of the MyLink entertainment system. The advanced infotainment system allows customers to remain fully connected, with access to a growing of applications at the touch of a button or a voice command.

“These are cars that we want to be able to bring to the market as soon as possible,” said Ms. Lyn Buena, TCCCI Senior Vice President and Director for Marketing and Customer Service.

The Trailblazer is TCCCI's best-selling model in their lineup. In 2015, TCCCI sold 7,382 units, 50% of which is accounted for by the Trailblazer nameplate alone.

“We're aiming to release the Trailblazer and Colorado by year's end. Watch out for them,” concluded Ms. Buena.
