GWM Thailand officially reveals refreshed H6 HEV, PHEV

Electrification continues to be at the forefront of GWM as the brand made its presence felt at the 2025 Bangkok International Motor Show. One of GWM's major reveals is the 2025 Haval H6 PHEV. That's right, the compact crossover has been recently updated and is now available as a plug-in hybrid.

Like the HEV variant, the plug-in hybrid Haval H6 gets a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 150 PS and 230 Nm of torque. It is then assisted by an electric motor that makes 177 PS and 300 Nm of pull. The result is a total system output of 326 PS and 530 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

Unlike the HEV which only gets a 1.67 kWh lithium-ion battery, the H6 PHEV gets a bigger 27.54 kWh battery pack. This gives the plug-in hybrid H6 an electric range of up to 150 km based on the NEDC cycle. Recharging the H6 PHEV from 0 – 100 % via an AC charger will take around 6 hours while a fast DC charger can recharge it from 0% to to 80% in around 35 minutes.

A total of four drive modes are available in both the HEV and PHEV variants, Eco Save, Normal Standard, Sport, and Snow. It also has three energy recovery modes to choose from; Low, Center, and High. Last but not least, the PHEV comes with a vehicle-to-load (V2L) system that's rated to support up to 3.3kW of power.

Design-wise, the 2025 Haval H6 HEV and PHEV get a new grille, redesigned LED headlights and daytime running lights, cleaner-looking bumpers, and new alloy wheel designs. It also gets restyled LED taillights and a thinner third brake light that's integrated into the tailgate spoiler.

Hop inside and GWM was also busy giving the Haval H6 a nip and tuck. It gets a redesigned center console with a wireless charging pad, bigger cupholders, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a new leather-wrapped steering wheel, and new upholstery. Also new is the gear selector as the rotary wheel from before has been replaced with a column shift-style stalk.

With the refreshed GWM Haval H6 HEV and PHEV now in Thailand, perhaps it might not be long before the electrified crossover makes its way to the Philippines.
