2026 Honda Prelude e:HEV debuts in Indonesia

Just before the holidays last year, Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) previewed the much-awaited Prelude e:HEV. Now in its sixth-generation, the electrified coupe features a sleek exterior and a 2.0L e:HEV powertrain derived from the Civic. We were also able to list the initial specifications of the Prelude e:HEV for the Philippines after the Department of Energy recognized it as a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV).

While HCPI has yet to officially launch it, the all-new Honda Prelude has officially made its debut in Southeast Asia via Indonesia. It will be available in limited quantities, with all initial 40 allocations for the 2026 Prelude already fully booked for the Indonesian market. The automaker has since opened an additional 60 allocations for delivery later in the year.

Back to the vehicle itself, the Indonesian-spec Prelude e:HEV comes with a 2.0L e:HEV powertrain that makes 141 PS with 182 Nm of torque. It is then assisted by an electric motor that puts out 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque. This translates to a total system output of over 200 PS.

Power is sent to the wheels via the Honda S+ shift system, which can simulate gear shifts from an 8-speed automatic transmission. It also benefits from a Dual-Axis strut front suspension, adaptive dampers, and Brembo brakes borrowed from the Civic Type R.

The Prelude also has plenty of amenities, including a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a 10.2-inch digital instrument panel, and Honda Sensing.

With Indonesia officially getting its hands on the all-new Prelude e:HEV, we're hoping HCPI launches the electrified coupe soon. However, we won't be surprised if the automaker decides to launch the updated CR-V first.
