The most powerful Defender to date makes Philippine debut
The most powerful Defender has officially arrived in the country. Jaguar Land Rover Philippines distributor Inchcape is proud to unveil the mighty Defender OCTA. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood, the Defender OCTA represents the pinnacle of performance for the famed British marque. Moreover, it also comes with exclusive upgrades that are unique only to the twin-turbo V8-powered Defender.
Beginning with the most important aspect, the Defender OCTA comes with a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 derived from BMW. It generates a whopping 635 PS and a staggering 750 Nm of torque that's easily accessible between 1800 to 5900 rpm. If you need extra oomph, the twin-turbo V8 can crank out 800 Nm in Dynamic Launch Mode to help the Defender OCTA get off the line much faster.

Power is then sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission complete with high and low-range gears. More importantly, the Defender OCTA has a claimed 0 – 100 km/h sprint time of just four seconds. Keep your foot buried on the accelerator, and the Defender OCTA is capable of reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h, although we won't be surprised if owners decide to remove it. Did we mention the V8-powered OCTA also comes with a bespoke quad tailpipe exhaust system that produces one heck of a sound?
Complementing the power twin-turbo V8 are uprated front disc brakes that measure 400mm in diameter and are equipped with Brembo calipers. It also has one of the fastest steering ratios put on a Defender to date to help the driver maneuver the 635 PS SUV. Land Rover also went to the trouble of revising the suspension system by giving it longer & tougher wishbones along with unique active dampers with separate accumulators.

Adding to the Defender OCTA's ability to cover any terrain comes in the form of the 6D Dynamics system. It works via an advanced network of hydraulically-interlinked continuously variable semi-active dampers that eliminate pitch and body roll on-road and also contribute to ride comfort and refinement. The system also allows for better wheel articulation without having to sacrifice ride comfort.
Want to make use of all available drive modes? The Defender OCTA comes with enhanced drive modes, including Dynamic, which delivers the ultimate performance-focused on-road experience by tuning the vehicle's steering, throttle, and suspension settings with one press of a button on the steering wheel. A long press of the button also unlocks access to OCTA Mode, which the brand claims is the first-ever dedicated Defender off-road mode with a focus on performance.

OCTA Mode turns on Off-Road Launch mode for optimum acceleration on loose surfaces. When combined with the lowest traction control settings, it also allows for the unique Off-Road ABS calibration for optimum braking performance on uneven terrain.
Further helping the Defender OCTA conquer the terrain are special 33-inch Goodyear Advanced all-terrain tires shod in 20-inch wheels. Not only are these the largest set of tires ever fitted on a Defender, but they were specifically developed for the OCTA. The Goodyear tires are available as an option, as the regular models get 22-inch alloys wrapped in Michelin Primacy all-season tires.

Other important exterior changes present in the high-performance SUV include an optimized front bodywork, a new grille that allows for better airflow, tough underbody protection, which includes an aluminum alloy front under shield, and exposed recovery points finished in Phosphor Bronze. Last but not least, the Defender OCTA has a 68mm wider stance and sits 28mm higher than a regular Defender 110.
The 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA starts at a very cool PHP 24.590 million for the 110 OCTA P635. Those looking to get the First Edition model will have to shell out an eye-watering PHP 26.590 million, which is limited to several units.
