Here's our first look at the all-new Mercedes-AMG A45
It was way back in September 2018 when Mercedes-AMG made it official that the fire-breathing A45 hot hatch will have a baby brother, the A35. Despite serving as an entry-level model, it comes with over 300 PS and has plenty of go-fast tech that makes it quick and agile as other sports cars.
Now, Mercedes-AMG is preparing for the world debut of the all-new A45. And what better way to tease their most powerful hatchback by letting it loose in snow-filled Sweden and watch it do what it does best, slide through the corners.

Still draped in camouflage, it's hard to see how will the A45 differ from the more mild-mannered A35. However, we did notice that the A45 comes with a quad exhaust system instead of just dual exhausts. In addition, it looks like the A45 will come with bigger wheels and tires, as well as a more aggressive aero pack.
But what is perhaps its most wicked feature is that it will apparently have a 'drift mode' available. This means drivers can kick the tail out should they want to, allowing them to drift the hatchback much like a rear-wheel drive car.

As for what's under the hood, supposedly the A45 will come with a beefier 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. If the A35 already impresses with 306 PS, the A45 will come with over 380 PS. And if that's not enough, an A45 S variant will apparently crank out 416 PS.

Mercedes-AMG has yet to state as to when the all-new A45 will make its official debut. More than likely, the most powerful A-Class could officially be revealed in September at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
