Perfect five stars for the Destinator
In case you missed it, Mitsubishi will be offering the all-new 7-seater Destinator Turbo at very attractive introductory prices. But it’s not just that, it turns out the all-new model will also be one of the safest cars out there once it launches next week.
The all-new Destinator underwent the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP), and it has been given a five-star rating for safety. The new model performed well under the current 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol that covers four assessment domains - Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), which covers 40 points of the overall score, Child Occupant Protection (COP), Safety Assist (SA), and Motorcyclist Safety (MS) that contribute 20 points each.

The AOP test is composed of frontal impact, side-impact, and head protection technology, where the all-new Destinator scored 34.69 out of a possible 40 points. For child occupant protection, the all-new Destinator scored 16.54 out of 20 as it impressed in the dynamic tests, plus the child restraint and detection systems.
Safety features that include advanced driver assist systems enabled the all-new Destinator to score 15.02 out of 20 in the criteria for standard safety assists, where effective braking and avoidance, seatbelt reminders, autonomous emergency braking, and advanced safety assist technologies were put to the test.
Lastly, the motorcycle safety tests included evaluating things like blind spot monitoring and auto high beam equipment for the Destinator. This is where the 7-seater garnered 11.02 out of a possible 20 points.
With all these scores combined, the all-new Destinator garnered an overall score of 77.27 points, which is enough to warrant a 5-star rating from ASEAN NCAP.
Mitsubishi Motors PH will be launching the all-new Destinator on November 20.
