Kia K4 Sportwagon combines practicality with style
If there's one type of vehicle we wish had a bigger presence in the Philippines, it's the wagon. Also called an estate, these long-roof vehicles are as practical and spacious as crossover SUVs, but are lighter, more agile, and more stylish. Yes, there are premium brands that sell wagons here in the country, but they only have a small presence since the country has favored crossover SUVs.
In other parts of the world, however, wagons continue to be a popular choice among car buyers, particularly in Europe. In fact, Kia has just revealed a new body style of the all-new K4, and we're green with envy.

Say hello to the 2026 Kia K4 Sportwagon, and we like what we're seeing. Already available either as a sedan or hatchback, the stylish K4 Sportwagon combines sharp looks with a spacious cabin, along with a generous cargo area that can rival bigger vehicles.
Starting with its design, the K4 Sportwagon features the brand's signature Opposites United design language, but cranked up to eleven. Whereas the sedan garnered mixed reactions thanks to its unconventional rear end, the K4 Sportwagon oozes style and sophistication. It gets the same aggressive front fascia and sleek LED daytime running lights & headlights, but is complemented by a more dynamic profile that's accentuated by the rear profile.
Muscular curves and distinct character lines run along the entire length of the K4 Sportwagon, along with sleek D-pillars that meet with the sloping roofline and distinct LED taillights. The result is a sleek and sharp-looking wagon that proves estates need not be boring. Kia even installed the rear door handles on the window panel for a more coupe-like appearance.

Open the tailgate, and the K4 Sportwagon can carry up to 604 liters worth of luggage with the rear seats up. Not bad, but if you really need the extra cargo room, you can fold down the seats, which gives users more than enough luggage space.
Hop inside, and the wagon gets the same sleek interior, along with the high-resolution displays, which consist of a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. Unlike other Kias that make use of column shifters, the K4 Sportwagon still comes with a traditional T-bar gear selector on the center console.
Other available features inside the K4 Sportwagon include a wireless charging pad, push-button start, fast-charging USB ports, leather upholstery, a center armrest, gloss black trim pieces, and a host of physical buttons to balance out the touchscreen controls.

A wide array of engines is available for the Kia K4 Sportwagon. These include a 1.0L T-GDI three-cylinder that makes 115 PS and can be coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission. Opt for the mild-hybrid version of the 1.0L T-GDI, and the manual is replaced by a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Those who want a bit more oomph can get the 1.6L T-GDI four-cylinder, which is available in two states of tune: 150 PS and 180 PS. The sole transmission option is a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
With Kia Philippines focusing more on crossovers, MPVs, and SUVs, there's little to no chance of the all-new K4 and K4 Sportwagon making it here. But who knows, perhaps Kia will change its mind and decide to offer the K4 to take on the likes of the Hyundai Elantra.
