Honda Thailand previews all-new Prelude, marking ASEAN debut
It looks like we won't have to wait long for the all-new Honda Prelude's eventual arrival in Southeast Asia. That's because Honda Thailand has previewed the all-new hybrid two-door in The Land of Smiles.
You read right, the automaker has brought the sixth-generation Prelude to Thailand to give interested buyers a chance to see it up close. Revealed alongside the Super EV Concept, this marks the first time the all-new Prelude has made its way to the ASEAN region. More importantly, this essentially marks the forthcoming arrival of the hybrid coupe.

The Prelude being previewed in Thailand appears to be a JDM model that's finished in Crystal Black Pearl and comes with blue-colored brake calipers.
Similar to the Prelude revealed for the Japanese market, the electrified two-door features a Civic-like dashboard, complete with a button-style gear selector, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, a full digital instrument cluster, and a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. In addition, the Prelude that's being shown in Thailand comes with rear seats, making the all-new coupe a 2+2 vehicle.
As before, the all-new Prelude e:HEV comes with an electrified 2.0L engine that's assisted by an electric motor and battery pack. The result is a combined system output of 183 PS and 315 Nm of torque. While this means it has the same output as the Civic e:HEV, the Prelude comes with the brand's new S+ Shift function, which simulates shift points of an 8-speed automatic.

The all-new Prelude also gets some extra goodies derived from the Civic Type R, like the dual-axis front suspension, adaptive dampers, and Brembo brakes. It also has a variable steering ratio, Agile Handling Assist with braking control, and 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in low-profile tires.
If you happen to be in Bangkok, you can check out the all-new Honda Prelude at EM Glass, Ground Floor of the Emsphere Shopping Center.
