XV80 Camry now in Thailand
The Toyota Camry is one step closer to landing in the Philippine market.

Toyota Motor Thailand has officially launched the 2025 Camry with an all-hybrid lineup. Featuring a new generation 2.5-liter hybrid engine and drive system, the 9th generation model called the XV80 promises an improvement in both power and efficiency.

The A25A-FXS motor sees its power bumped up to 186 PS and 221 Nm of torque, while the electric motor now puts out 136 PS and 208 Nm of torque with a new lithium-ion battery powering it. As a result, the combined system output is now at 227 PS delivered through an E-CVT transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

As expected, the all-new Camry for the Thai market gets the “hammerhead” grille and is now slightly longer at 4920 mm (4885 mm on the previous-gen Camry). The top-spec HEV Premium Luxury also gets 18-inch alloy wheels, along with a panoramic glass roof with an electric sunshade.

Inside, the Camry welcomes its occupants with dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument panel and infotainment, along with a 9-position JBL sound system. Other features include 8-way power-adjustable front seats with ventilation, rear seat touch control panels, electric reclining backrests for the second row, and a tri-zone climate control system. The all-new Camry also comes with Toyota Safety Sense as standard for all variants in the Thai market.

Unlike the North American model launched last year, the all-new Camry launched in Thailand was made in Toyota’s Chachoengsao factory. For the Thai market, all variants are hybrid due to their new excise tax for 2026. For export markets, Toyota Motor Thailand offers the Camry in three powertrains: 2.5 HEV, 2.5 ICE, and 2.0 ICE.
When the all-new Camry arrives in the Philippines however, it will most likely come with the 2.5 hybrid engine. As for its arrival, there’s good reason to think the Camry could be one of Toyota’s surprise launches at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show, happening on October 24 to 27 at the World Trade Center.
