Subaru reveals the updated WRX tS with Brembo brakes, electric dampers, and more
We're still bummed that Subaru has yet to bring back the STI variant of the WRX. However, the Gunam-based automaker has just given the WRX a wicked update, particularly the tS version.
Say hello to the 2025 Subaru WRX tS, and it's sporting several new upgrades. For starters, it's fitted with high-performance Brembo brakes as standard including six-piston calipers at the front and two-piston calipers in the rear. Subaru says the upgraded braking system delivers enhanced stopping power, better fade resistance, and an improved pedal feel.
Next is the new STI-tuned suspension which comes with electronically-controlled dampers and tweaked suspension tuning. The adaptive system can be adjusted via the Drive Mode Select System and comes with three modes – Comfort, Normal, and Sport. This feature used to be only available for the top-of-the-line GT but is now available on the regular WRX tS.

Besides getting a new set of brakes and dampers, the 2025 WRX tS also comes with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/35/R19 Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires for extra grip in both dry & wet weather conditions. As an added touch, the Brembo brake calipers are painted gold for that extra eye candy.
Open the doors and eagle-eyed enthusiasts will notice it gets a new digital instrument panel that replaces the analog gauges. It measures 12.3 inches and shows not only a digital readout of the speedometer and tachometer but also the map display and route guides. The 11.6-inch tablet-inspired touchscreen has been carried over and still comes with wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay & Android Auto.
Also available inside the 2025 WRX tS are the Recaro Performance Design seats for the driver & front passenger. They offer increased support and feature a Y-shaped design at the center of the backrest to securely support and maintain a proper driving posture. The seats themselves are also wrapped in Ultrasuede with contrasting blue accents while the blue “tS” logo is embossed on the front headrests and carpeted floor mats.

All remains the same under the hood of the 2025 WRX tS. That means it's powered by a 2.4-liter turbocharged Boxer engine that puts out 275 PS with 350 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to a 6-speed manual transmission across all four wheels via the brand's Symmetrical AWD system.
The 2025 Subaru WRX tS will first make its debut at the Wicked Big Meet at the Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford, Connecticut. With the refreshed turbocharged sedan set to be launched at the largest annual gathering of Subaru enthusiasts in the US, we can expect some fans to put down a reservation as soon as possible this weekend.
