Mercedes-Benz PH enters PHEV era with EQ Hybrid Technology for 2025 GLC, E-Class

After launching several electric vehicles (EVs), Mercedes-Benz Philippines distributor Inchcape is now entering a new era in electrification. In a display to show they are ready to expand their electrified lineup, Mercedes-Benz has officially launched not one but two new plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs).

Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC 350e 4Matic and the E350e PHEVs. With the introduction of plug-in hybrid models, Mercedes-Benz Philippines combines electrification with luxury and performance. Thanks to a turbocharged powertrain assisted by an electric motor and battery system, the GLC 350e 4Matic and E350 PHEVs ensure true range flexibility in both full EV and hybrid modes.

Under the hood, both the GLC 350e and E350e are powered by a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Both make 204 PS with 320 Nm of torque and are paired with a 9-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox, with the GLC 350e benefiting from an AWD system. With the assistance of an electric motor and a battery pack, both the crossover and sedan produce a combined 317 PS and 550 Nm of torque.

Mercedes-Benz says the GLC 350e 4Matic gets a 24.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack while the E350e gets a 19.58 kWh battery pack. These give both vehicles an electric range of over 100 km. Both the GLC 350e and E350e PHEVs support 11 kW of AC charging, are compatible with Type 2 sockets, and come with an onboard charging cable for domestic outlets. A 7kW wallbox charger with a 5 meter charging cable is also included in the purchase.

Hop inside the GLC 350e and E350e PHEVs come with a plethora of features like a pair of high-definition displays. Both vehicles come with the brand's latest MBUX infotainment system that supports intelligent voice control and AI-assisted features to control certain in-car functions like climate control, navigation, and more.

The E350e gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel along with a 14.4-inch central touchscreen display. The front passenger even gets their own 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment media display. The electrified E-Class also includes a 17-speaker sound system from Burmester with Dolby Atmos for that added audio fidelity.

Over to the GLC 350e, the electrified crossover comes with a 12.3-inch instrument cluster that's accompanied by a tablet-inspired 11.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Audiophiles will be happy to know the GLC 350e is equipped with a 15-speaker Burmester sound system.

Other amenities present inside the two new plug-in hybrids include full leather upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, power-adjustable front seats with massage function, LED ambient lighting, rear A/C vents, and rear USB charging ports.

Available colors for the GLC 350e PHEV include Graphite Gray, Obsidian Black, Polar White, and Verde Silver. The E350e PHEV is also available in the aforementioned hues but gets an extra color in the form of Nautic Blue.
