Kia PH reveals the coding-exempt Carnival Turbo HEV
Those who have been waiting to get their hands on the refreshed Kia Carnival but prefer it with a turbo-hybrid powertrain need not wait anymore. This comes after Kia Philippines distributor ACMobility officially launched the 2025 Carnival Turbo HEV.
For the first time in the minivan’s history, the Carnival is now available with an electrified engine that is set to deliver fewer carbon emissions as well as save on fuel for longer. In addition, the electrified powertrain is set to deliver smoother power delivery without sacrificing power.

“As Kia advances its electrification journey, the new Carnival Turbo HEV marks a significant step forward, combining luxury, efficiency, and advanced hybrid technology. Offering Filipino families a more connected and dynamic driving experience with its spacious interior, cutting-edge safety features, and electrified performance, this milestone underscores Kia’s commitment to driving electric mobility and delivering innovative solutions to the Philippine market,” said Brian Buendia, CEO of Kia Philippines.

Under the hood of the Carnival Turbo HEV is a 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that’s assisted by an electric motor. The result is a total system output of 245 PS and 367 Nm of torque. Compared to the turbo-diesel variant, the Turbo HEV makes 43 PS more but has 73 Nm less pulling power. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Style-wise, the Carnival Turbo HEV gets the same stylish exterior as the turbo-diesel versions of the updated Carnival like the 4-cube LED headlights, the matte-finished 19-inch alloy wheels, and the Star Map LED lighting for the taillights. For improved fuel efficiency, the Turbo HEV also benefits from active aero flaps.

Hop inside and the Turbo Carnival HEV greets you into a lounge-like interior complete with loads of features and amenities. There’s the 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, multiple 12V power outlets, a heads-up display for the driver, a digital rearview mirror, and a rotary-style gear selector.

Serving as the best seats in the house are the Premium Relaxation Seats on the second row which come with ottomans. Complementing those is a power sunroof which lets more light into the cabin. Other key features available inside the vehicle include; power-adjustable front seats, a 6-speaker sound system, automatic climate control, ventilated seats, and a special Navy Blue & Mistry Gray color scheme for the cabin.

For peace of mind while on the road, the Carnival Turbo HEV is equipped with Kia’s DriveWise suite of intelligent driver aids. This gives the minivan smart driving features such as Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, a 360-degree camera system, and parking sensors all around the vehicle. It also has an 8-airbag system, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX anchors for child seats.

The Kia Carnival Turbo HEV will be available in all 40 Kia showrooms nationwide starting December 1, 2024, with pre-selling already ongoing. Available colors for the electrified minivan include Aurora Black Pearl, Ceramic Silver, and Ivory Silver. It also comes with a comprehensive standard warranty: 5 years or 160,000 km for the vehicle, a 5-year warranty for the electric motor, and an 8-year warranty for the battery.
The price of the new Kia Carnival Turbo HEV is PHP 3,488,000 which is PHP 120,000 more than the top-of-the-line SX diesel. Despite the higher price tag, it's a smart move from Kia as they stand to do well financially from the Carnival HEV given the lack of import duty, but at a higher price than the full tax Carnival diesel.
