Refreshed and more feature-packed 2025 Isuzu mu-X now in PH
Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has just revealed its updated 7-seat midsize SUV fighter. Say hello to the 2025 Isuzu mu-X, which gets a makeover both inside and out.
"For over a decade, the Isuzu mu-X has been a staple in Filipino households, trusted by families, business professionals, and adventure seekers alike. With its new elevated design, enhanced features, and cutting-edge technology, we have no doubt that this latest model will once again set the standard in the SUV segment," said Mikio Tsukui, newly-appointed IPC president.

Beginning with the most obvious, the refreshed SUV gets a sharper and more aggressive exterior that consists of a Dynamic Design Titanium Carbide grille with silver trim accents, a “Fighter Jet Wing” front bumper design that gives the SUV a more aerodynamic appearance, a new air curtain, and the Dynamic Blade Design LED headlights.

New 20-inch Dynamic Turbine alloys fill up the wheel wells of the LS-E 4x4 and LS-E 4x2 models, complete with 265/50 series tires. On the other hand, the LS-A 4x2 and LS come with 18-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels with 265/60 and 255/65 series tires, respectively. Last but not least, the 2025 mu-X is equipped with the eye-catching Embrace Line Concept LED taillights.
Size-wise, the 2025 mu-X measures 4850mm long, 1870mm tall, and 1825mm tall. The SUV also comes with a 2855mm wheelbase and 235mm of ground clearance (230mm for the base LS variant).

Hop inside, and the 2025 mu-X welcomes occupants into a comfy yet tech-laden cabin. There’s a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a refreshed gauge cluster with a 7-inch multi-info display, LED ambient lighting for a cozier feel inside the mu-X, and leather upholstery on high-grade models (fabric on lower-grade variants).

Other key features include dual-zone climate control with a pollen filter (manual zircon for the LS), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a wireless charging pad, and a walk-away auto lock.

Under the hood, the 2025 mu-X gets the carried-over 3.0L and 1.9L BluePower turbo-diesel engines. The former is the 4JJ3-TCX turbo-diesel that generates 190 PS at 3600 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 1800 and 2800 rpm. The latter, meanwhile, is the RZ4E and it puts out 150 PS at 3600 rpm with 350 Nm of pull from 1800 to 2600 rpm.
Both engines are mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission with the LS-E variant available with a part-time 4x4 system complete with a Terrain Command Select Dial with Rough Terrain Mode. The 3.0L 4JJ3-TCX is available in the LS-E 4x4, LS-E 4x2, and LS-A 4x2. The 1.9L RZ4E is exclusively available only in the entry-level LS 4x2.

For peace of mind while on the road, the 2025 mu-X is equipped with an extensive list of safety features. Aside from the usual anti-lock brakes and brake assist, all variants of the mu-X come with electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, and a brake override system. The SUV also gets plenty of underbody protection in the form of a front skid plate, fuel tank protector, transfer case protector, and oil pan guard.
All-around visibility is also available, thanks to a 360-degree camera system that’s a standard feature in the LS-A and LS-E models. The LS, meanwhile, only gets a reverse camera. Rear parking sensors are also equipped across all models, although the LS-A and LS-E variants get front parking sensors for good measure.
Available only on the LS-E variants is the advanced driver assist system (ADAS), which serves as a suite of intelligent driver aids. This gives the SUV smart driving features like forward collision warning with autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with a speed limiter, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear-cross traffic alert, auto high beams, rear park assist, and a multi-collision braking system.

Available colors for 2025 mu-X include Splash White, Mercury Silver, Satin Pearl White, Onyx Black, and the all-new Eiger Gray which is exclusive only for the LS-A and LS-E variants.
