2025 Geely EX5 arrives in PH to take on BYD Atto 3
Geely PH officially reveals the EX5 electric crossover
Geely Motor Philippines Corporation has just unleashed its most high-tech vehicle to date. After previewing it earlier this year, the automaker has officially revealed the 2025 Geely EX5. Serving as the brand's flagship compact crossover EV, the EX5 is packed to the brim with features, can go the distance, and has set its sights against the likes of the BYD Atto 3.
Just like the vehicle we saw in the PRC and earlier this year, the Geely EX5 exudes a sleek and stylish look. It gets thin LED headlights, a curvaceous profile, wraparound LED taillights that appear to have been inspired by the Porsche Cayenne, and closed-off grille, J-shaped LED daytime running lights, and diamond-cut alloy wheels that are available in 18- and 19-inch sizes.
Speaking of size, the Geely EX5 measures 4615mm long, 1901mm wide, and 1675mm tall. It also has a generous 2750mm wheelbase and 173mm of ground clearance. Last but not least, the EX5 has approach & departure angles of 16 degrees and 19.6 degrees, respectively, and a minimum turning radius of 5.4 meters.
At the heart of the Geely EX5 is an 11-in-1 electric drive system that delivers 217 PS and 320 Nm of torque to the front wheels via an electric motor. From a standstill, Geely claims the vehicle can sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km/h. Power is supplied by a 60.22 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery pack, which gives the EX5 a range of up to 430 km based on the WLTP cycle or up to 495 km when using the NEDC cycle.
The Geely EX5 supports both AC and DC fast charging, with the former supporting up to 11 kW. This translates to a charging time of about 6.1 hours from 10% to 100%. Meanwhile, hooking up the EX5 to a fast DC charger can fully recharge the EV from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The EX5 also supports vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging as well as vehicle-to-load (V2L) to power up worksites or campsites.
Hop inside and the EX5 welcomes you into a high-tech and sleek cabin complete with faux leather upholstery and power-adjustable front seats with memory function for both the driver and passenger. More than that, the front passenger seat benefits from a two-way power-adjustable leg support along with a VIP relaxation mode for that extra comfy ride. Heck, the driver also gets this feature, so as long as the vehicle is stationary.
Tech-wise, the EX5 is equipped with not one, but two high-definition displays. One is a 10.2-inch digital instrument display and a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that's powered by Geely's own Flyme system. It supports Android mirroring, Bluetooth, and comes with a heads-up display (HUD) for the driver. It also comes with several USB-A and USB Type-C ports, a wireless charging pad, and automatic climate control.
Audiophiles will also be happy to know it comes with a 16-speaker Flyme sound system complete with integrated headrest speakers. Other neat features available in the EX5 include a 256-color LED ambient lighting, a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, front seat ventilation, rear privacy windows, and a 360-degree camera system.
For extra peace of mind, the Geely EX5 is available with a wide array of ADAS features that include adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation support for the front & rear, automatic emergency braking, rear-cross traffic alert with automatic braking, lane-keeping assist, lane-change assist, traffic sign information, blind-spot detection, and emergency lane-keeping assist.
The Geely EX5 starts at PHP 1.799 million, but for a limited time, Geely is offering a PHP 110,000 discount until September 2025. In addition, Geely is giving away a free Meizu smartphone alongside the PHP 110,000 discount. There will only be 100 units of the phone available, so supplies are limited.
