Spot the subtle revisions on the 2025 BMW 3 Series
Yesterday, BMW unleashed the refreshed M3 in both sedan and wagon body styles for the 2025 model year. Not only does it get a sleeker look inside & out, but the M3 Competition now makes more power with 530 PS from its TwinPower Turbo inline-six.
All well & good but what about the regular 3 Series Sedan & Touring? Well, BMW has also given the standard versions of the 3 Series a nip & tuck for the 2025 model year. But what changes did the automaker give to the 3 Series?

Like most of BMW's updates, the changes are subtle and not easily noticeable. Starting with the exterior, all looks to be the same with the car's signature kidney grille and eye-catching LED headlights & daytime running lights. However, BMW introduced new color finishes in the form of Arctic Race Blue Metallic and Vegas Red Metallic. The brand even added two new BMW Individual hues known as Frozen Pure Gray Metallic and Frozen Portimao Blue Metallic.
Apart from getting new paint finishes, BMW also gave the 3 Series optional lightweight alloy wheels. Models fitted with the M Sport Package get 19-inch M light alloy wheels in a double-spoke design. On the other hand, the BMW Individual range gives the 3 Series 19-inch alloys in a Y-spoke design. Regular models get 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Hop inside and the 2025 3 Series greets occupants with a new flat-bottom steering wheel and “cascade” LED ambient lighting that can be set to nine different colors. The dashboard gets an upgraded Sensatec finish which is BMW speak for its high-quality synthetic leather, “Galvanic” controls which deliver a unique luster to the buttons & switch gears, and an updated BMW Operating System 8.5 that has a more simplified user interface and improved shortcuts in accessing menus/features.

Under the hood, the 3 Series continues to be available with a wide array of inline-four and straight-six engines. However, BMW has been busy giving some of its engines several upgrades. Starting with the 2.0-liter 330i, its four-cylinder gets redesigned intake ports and combustion chambers, as well as tweaked camshaft control, injection, and ignition for improved performance. Despite the upgrades, the engine still makes 259 PS with 400 Nm of torque.
Then there's the M340i which is equipped with a new 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six and gets 48V mild-hybrid assist. This allows the engine to crank out 391 PS and 539 Nm of pull, an increase of 4 PS and 39 Nm, respectively. Both the 330i and M340i are paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

With the 3 Series getting some subtle revisions and changes, we're hoping we will not have to wait long for its arrival in the Philippines. Perhaps we can expect the updated 3 Series to make its way here before the year ends or sometime in early 2025.
