All-new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is one sleek looking sedan
It was around four months ago when BMW revealed the all-new 2025 1 Series. Featuring a sportier and more dynamic-looking design, the hatchback gets a much-needed change both inside and out. In addition, BMW continues to offer a hot hatch version in the form of the M135 xDrive which gets a 2.0L turbo under the hood that makes nearly 300 PS with 400 Nm of torque and comes with AWD.
But what about those who prefer a sedan version of the all-new 1 Series? Well, BMW has now revealed the all-new 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe and it comes with a similar design albeit lacking a hatch in the back. Like the recently-revealed 1 Series, the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe gets the same adaptive LED headlight design and a similar-looking grille.

Making the 2 Series Grand Coupe stand out from its hatchback cousin is the addition of a longer rear end thanks to a trunk. Surprisingly, it still gets the same LED taillights as the 1 Series Gran Coupe which adds to the sedan's dynamic appearance. And if you want the 2 Series Gran Coupe to look even more dynamic, there's the M Sport styling package which further enhances the sedan's sporty looks.

The M Sport package gives the vehicle adaptive M suspension with a lowered ride height, 18-inch lightweight alloy wheels (a 19-inch set is optional), M Shadowline Lights, a rear spoiler, and an M Sport braking system. The appearance pack also gives customers a sportier interior courtesy of M sport seats and M paddle shifters.

Hop aboard and those familiar with the 1 Series cabin will find a familiar-looking interior. From the BMW Live Cockpit Plus dashboard to the floating center console, as well as the high-tech-looking gadgets, both the 2 Series Gran Coupe and 1 Series will have similar-looking cabins. In terms of features, BMW made sure the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe is packed to the brim.
Available features include a 10.7-inch digital instrument panel, a 10.25-inch digital media display with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, keyless entry, a wireless charging pad, a leather-free upholstery, a panoramic glass sunroof, and 40:20:40 split-rear seats to allow longer items to be stowed.

A wide array of engine choices are available for the 2025 2 Series Gran Coupe. The range begins with the turbo-diesel lineup which consists of the 218d and 220d. Both variants make use of a 2.0L turbo-diesel wherein the former makes 150 PS while the latter produces 163 PS. There's also the 220 which has a 1.5L turbo-gas engine that makes 170 PS.
At the top of the heap is the M235 xDrive which gets its power from a high-performance 2.0L TwinPower Turbo inline-four that makes over 300 PS and 400 Nm of pull. It can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h. Like the 1 Series, all variants of the new 2 Series Gran Coupe have swapped the 8-speed automatic for a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With the all-new 2 Series Gran Coupe now available in Europe, perhaps it might arrive in the country sometime next year. The only question now is, will we see both the 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe be offered simultaneously by SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp.?
