Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is the fastest front-engined drop to date

Electrification may be all the rage today, but for brands like Aston Martin, a V12 engine is and always will be a staple choice for its clientele.

Aston Martin wowed everyone last year when they unleashed the all-new, twin-turbo V12-powered Vanquish. With over 830 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque on tap that's mated to a slick-shifting 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox, the two-seater supercar will surely be a treat for the senses for the select few who can purchase such a vehicle.

But instead of just offering the two-seater as a droptop, Aston Martin decided to introduce a droptop version of its latest V12 flagship. Ladies and gentlemen, say hello to the 2025 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, and boy what a beauty it is. Revealed just in time in celebration of the Volante's 60th anniversary (Aston Martin-speak for convertibles), the all-new Vanquish Volante highlights six decades of the brand's Short Chassis Volante, which became the basis of all droptops from the British marque.

Like all Volantes, the droptop Vanquish's main highlight is its lightweight K-fold roof. The fabric soft-top can be deployed and activated in just 14 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h and can also be activated via the key fob. It also has a remarkable level of thermal insulation that Aston Martin claims is comparable to that of the coupe and acoustically-enhanced to lessen outside noise from entering the cabin.

The Vanquish Volante also shares the muscular and eye-catching exterior elements of its coupe counterpart. These include the matrix LED headlights, the eye-catching LED taillights, the massive front grille, the frameless door mirrors, the distinct red V12 motif the side strake, and the long ventilated hood.

Hop inside, and the interior of the Vanquish Volante is strikingly similar to the coupe version. These include the 10.25-inch digital instrument panel, the bespoke 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that's hooked up to a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a machine-knurled rotary dial that controls the drive modes.

Fitted as standard are the Sports Plus Seats, which feature a seating position that can be adjusted to a wide range of driver heights. Aston Martin says this creates a sporting feel and the perfect position for dynamic driving. It is then complemented by the low center console and scalloped door panels, which optimize space around the upper body.

Under the hood, the Vanquish Volante gets the same 5.2L twin-turbo V12 that generates 835 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. Despite the extra 95 kg of weight due to the reinforced chassis, the droptop Vanqush can go from 0 – 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and hit an incredible top speed of 344 km/h. Not only does it match the top speed of the hardtop coupe, but the Vanquish Volante is now the fastest front-engined convertible – beating the Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider, which can only get up to 340 km/h.

The Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is now available to order, albeit in limited numbers. The first deliveries are scheduled to begin in Q3 2025, which means we can expect the first customers to get their hands on them very soon.
