Nissan gives the second generation Juke a refresh; brings back yellow hue
If there’s one Nissan we somehow miss seeing on Philippine roads, it’s the Juke. Granted, it was available to the market a few years ago, but it was ultimately replaced by its quicker (and more practical-looking) sibling, the Kicks e-Power. In other markets like Europe, however, the Nissan Juke is still alive and kicking and is now in its second generation. Even better is the fact that there’s a new variant of the funky-looking crossover.
This is the 2024 Nissan Juke N-Sport, and if the name rings a bell, Nissan Philippines Inc. used to offer a limited-run edition of the same name. Heck, the Juke N-Sport that’s being offered in Europe right now even has a similar shade of yellow that was also available here in the country.

Part of the Juke’s mid-cycle refresh over in the Old Continent, the 2024 Juke N-Sport sees the return of the yellow hue which was not available when the second generation crossover was first revealed. According to the automaker, customers were actually asking if the yellow color would be offered again which prompted Nissan to bring it back for the new N-Sport.
Complementing the striking yellow exterior are neat touches of black which contrast with the bright paintwork. From the side mirror caps, front grille trim, roof, alloy wheels, and body cladding, Nissan made sure to give the funky crossover a nice touch of black accents.

Over to the interior, Nissan put some yellow highlights across the cabin to give it some extra flair. This can be seen on the dashboard, instrument panel, aircon vents, as well as on the touchscreen infotainment display. The automaker even put some yellow contrast stitching on the center console, leather seats, and door panels for good measure.
Other key highlights present inside the cabin are the Alcantara inserts on the seats, a larger glovebox, a redesigned center armrest for the driver & front passenger, an electronic parking brake, a wireless charging pad, and USB-A & USB-C charging ports for the front & rear occupants.

Under the hood, the Juke N-Sport is available with two powertrain options. First is the 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine that’s mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. It puts out 117 PS along with 180 Nm of torque and comes with three driving modes; Eco, Standard & Sport.
The other engine is a 1.6-liter hybrid powertrain that has a combined system output of 143 PS and 205 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eCVT that drives the front wheels and is claimed to be 37% more fuel efficient than non-hybrid engines.

While there is little to no chance the Juke will make a comeback in the Philippines, at least it’s nice to know that the funky crossover is still doing well in other markets. Hopefully, Nissan will make an N-Sport edition of the Kicks e-Power complete with the distinct black & yellow hues seen on the Juke.
