2024 BAIC B30e Dune hybrid 4x4 SUV revealed, begins PHP 1.488M

Turbocharged hybrid performance meets 4x4 capability in BAIC B30e Dune

After being spotted on public roads, BAIC Philippines distributor United Asia Automotive Group Inc (UAAGI) has officially revealed its latest offering. This is the 2024 BAIC B30e – and it serves as the brand's most affordable hybrid off-roader yet.

Combining rugged looks with an electrified powertrain, the B30e is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that's assisted by a pair of electric motors (single for the 4x2 variant). Dubbed the Smart Hybrid System, the BAIC B30e Dune 4x2 makes an impressive 329 PS along with 550 Nm of torque. On the other hand, the more powerful B30e Dune 4x4 generates a whopping 403 PS and 685 Nm of pull. Power is then transferred to a dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) which allows the B30e Dune to sprint from 0 – 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

Complementing the electrified powertrain is the Real-Time Intelligent 4WD system that comes with the aforementioned front & rear electric motors. It comes with 7 drive modes for its All-Terrain System which include; Comfort, Sport, Economy, Snow, Sand, Muddy Road, and Wading. The B30e Dune also has a rated ground clearance of 215mm which will allow it to take on uneven terrain with ease.

All variants of the B30e Dune come with 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 235/60/R19 tires. In addition, the electrified SUV has an approach angle of 24.5 degrees, a departure angle of 30 degrees, and a water-wading depth of 450mm.

Hop inside and the B30e Dune welcomes occupants into a high-tech interior. First up is a huge 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that's complemented by an even bigger 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also has a stylish center console that features a unique gear selector and a rotary-style drive mode selector (for 4x4 variants).

Also welcoming guests inside the vehicle are leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, a smart power tailgate, power-adjustable front seats, rain-sensing wipers, a 360-degree camera system, and parking sensors. Providing extra peace of mind comes courtesy of intelligent driver aids that are rated at Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist System). This gives the B30e Dune smart driving features such as intelligent cruise control, intelligent high beam control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-assist system, lane-change assist, emergency lane-keep assist, front & rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, and rear-cross travel alert.

The BAIC B30e Dune comes with a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer (whichever comes first) warranty and is available at a suggested retail price of P1.588 million for the 4x2 variant and P1.888 million for the 4x4 variant. But for BAIC's introductory offer, buyers can enjoy a PHP 100,000 discount off the SRP until September 30, 2024.
