Toyota PH issues recall on several Camry units due to a panoramic camera defect

Heads up to Toyota Camry owners in the country.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has just notified the Department of Trade (DTI) of its Customer Satisfaction Campaign (AKA recall) for certain Camry vehicles equipped with a panoramic view monitor (PVM) system due to a possible manufacturing defect.

According to TMP, several Camry models that come with the PVM system may have forward & side camera sensors that are defective. The defect in question may cause cracks in the camera sensors, which, over time, may lead to internal failure and prevent the PVM from displaying front or side-view images.

Toyota Motor Philippines shared that 1,033 examples of the Camry are part of the recall, which were manufactured from November 25, 2022, through September 2, 2024.

Affected vehicle owners are advised to schedule an inspection at any authorized Toyota dealership. Should the defect be found, the inspection and repair will be done free of charge to affected customers. In addition, TMP will notify concerned customers through an official notification letter should their vehicles be part of the recall.
