He came up with the idea in 1985!
EV charging is going to be the way for mobility from here on out, especially after a superpower waged a war on a state that resulted in a disruption that saw global oil prices soar to stratospheric levels.
The problem, however, is that EV charging infrastructure still has a ways to go in a lot of places around the world, and even if infrastructure exists, the demand for charging will put a strain on it. But one scientist has a solution, and it stemmed from the question: what if you can bring your charger with you, and what if it can run on anything?
Today, 1 April 2026, a pioneering company -led by its wide-eyed scientist founder- has started production of a device that can be retrofitted to any battery electric vehicle to make it fully enclosed and self-sustaining. That means your BEV will no longer need to line up at a charger; you can just refuel it.
And get this: the fuel it uses is any kind of waste or trash.
The breakthrough device was invented by visionary CEO scientist Dr. Brown, who founded ELB Industries for its production. The device itself is called Dr. Fusion. Brown says he came up with the idea during a series of travels he had in 1985. He would not say where he went, but during those adventures with his Chief Operating Officer, Mr. McFly, he came upon an idea for Dr. Fusion.
Basically, it runs on anything you can find in your garbage can. He demonstrated it on an older version called Mr. Fusion by refuelling it with a used banana peel and a crushed can with some leftover soda. Voila! Electrical power.
Brown says that the original version of the device was able to generate upwards of 1.21 gigawatts of electrical energy, which he fitted into his 1981 DMC DeLorean sports car. It was certainly an unusual choice because what would an internal combustion engine need 1.21 GW of power for?
He wouldn’t say, but given that it can generate so much surplus energy, Brown says the batteries in your BEV won’t be a problem at all. Brown says you can expect charging times from 0 to 100% for a 60 to 80 kWh battery pack in 1 second or less. And you can also use Dr. Fusion to power your home, your building or even your grid because of all the power it produces.
“Things are getting heavy in the future, so we must innovate,” said Dr. Brown, CEO of ELB Industries. “We must think fourth dimensionally to find solutions to these real-world problems.”
Too good to be true? It just might be!
